Teatro de Hotel Guarani in Asuncion, the capital city of Paraguay where the CLF meeting was held.
February 8th to the 10th, the Christian Leaders
Fellowship (CLF) conference was held at the Teatro de Hotel Guarani in
Asuncion, the capital city of Paraguay. 600 Christian leaders from not only
Paraguay but also from neighboring countries such as Brazil, Argentina and
Uruguay were in attendance and spent a joyful time being connected with the
heart of God that is contained in the Bible.
Paraguay is similar to other Central and South American countries in the respect that most of the citizens are Christians (89.6% are Catholics, 6.2% are Protestants) but they are simple church goers who have not met the true gospel. The inability of pastors to lead their congregation to precise faith is an urgent issue for Christianity in Paraguay.
The CLF began on March 2017 in New York and has reached 100 countries in its mission to witness true repentance and faith through a Christian reformation and growth. Paraguay has also become a host of the CLF where the hope rises of change in the Christian community in Paraguay.
This CLF event was the first one in which Pastor Ock Soo Park was the main speaker and so the regional pastors and the congregation poured all their hearts into the conference. Even the CLF preparation teams in neighboring countries visited churches and invited attendees. In the beginning, there were many who had misunderstandings about CLF as they did not know its purpose but through more meetings, the pastors opened their hearts and joined us.
Pastor Ock Soo Park, the main speaker, preached the gospel of the forgiveness of sins through the story of the woman caught in the act of adultery.
“What is the difference between God and Satan? That’s right. Their hearts are different. Your life is entirely dependent on the kind of heart you accept. If you learn and know the Bible precisely, you will change. Thoughts will change, the way you work will change, even problems that may arise will not cripple you because God will do it all. Now let us go into the world of the Bible. Let us explore the fundamental aspect of the woman who was caught in the act of adultery.
Let us read Jeremiah 31 verse 31 to verse 34. Blessings if you keep the law and curse if you don’t.
The first covenant was a law that human beings cannot keep. Because it was impossible to keep by anyone, we had no choice to be cursed. That is why God formed a new covenant. The woman could never be saved by the law. That is why Jesus died on the cross and washed all your sins. Did you wash them? Jesus washed your sins.
That is how the woman caught in the act of adultery was able to be saved. We are the same. If we follow the law, we must face judgement as sinners but if we are judged by the new covenant then we are righteous. Through the new covenant we are all holy. The time of the law is now gone, and the time of the new covenant has begun!”
Pastor Ock Soo Park introduced the law (Law of Sin and Death) and the new covenant (Law of Life and Holy Ghost) and explained that through the law, curse was inevitable but through the new covenant, our sins are forgiven and we have become righteous in the age of the new covenant as shown in the Word. The participants listened to the lecture of pastor Ock Soo Park and came forwards to share their thoughts on the sermon.
“This is the first time attending the CLF but it is astounding. More than anything else, I am glad that pastors from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and other countries could join us. I think the pastors were instrumental in gathering all of us to Paraguay. Pastor Ock Soo Park’s message was truly marvelous. As he spoke about connecting our hearts and God’s heart I could feel a new heart being provided to me. Through this CLF we were able to hear many lively testimonies and receive such valuable Words of God. We signed an MOU with our association and we would like to share such a message in our association as well. Around 500 Baptists, Pentecostal, Presbyterian churches are in our association and we will bring change through this clear Word of God together with the CLF.” (Lorenzo Favon / Chairman of Asociacíon de Ministro Evangélico)
“The message of God that we heart today was arrestingly interesting. We heard about how to unite our hearts with God through the Word. Through the word we heard today, just like the woman caught in the act of adultery, we were also sanctified and justified inside Jesus Christ. The Word I heard today fills my heart. It was blindingly beautiful and I am grateful. I’d like to spread this precious gospel to many who don’t know this as yet. I had a blessed time listening to the amazing Word of God.” (Juan Santandel / Paraguay Dios de Encarnación Church, Vice Chairman of Asociación de pastores)
Every year the CLF is reaching all across the globe, and now the pastors in Paraguay are uniting as one. There is great hope that Paraguayan pastors who are uniting in front of the Bible are able to overcome denominations and have an exchange of faith to preach the gospel.
